Do you or have you lived in a British suburban estate, built at some time between the 1970s and now, that resembles the ones in the photographs you can see here? If so, we would like to hear from you. We’d like to talk to a wide range of people about how they perceive and think of this environment, while also taking photos of our subjects such as the ones seen featuring people in them here.
your wilderness revisited is a new multimedia art project that looks at how we interact and engage with British post-war suburban environments, specifically new places built in the last 30 years, while also considering the challenge of their designs for the future. The project focuses on the questions and concerns of human individuality within the suburban built environment, and how the development of these places affects the harmony - both socially and ecologically - that is sought within them.
Our work will eventually be compiled into an audio/visual exhibition that will include photography, video art and music working together to create a unique look at our surroundings, and to inspire discussion to help people better engage with their own.
Get in touch with us here if you would like to contribute and participate.
